Jeffrey DeMacedo, Intern
Jeffrey is currently enrolled at Florida Atlantic University as a Business Financing student.
He is a great addition to FORMICA & ASSOCIATES where he completes MEP set ups, re-insertions, mark ups, and designs preliminary plumbing systems.
Jeffrey obtained his certification in Autodesk Revit®, while he was still in high school.
Farah Ghumrawi-Henderson, B.S. Mechanical Engineering, E.I.T.
Farah received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University in 2015.
Prior to joining FORMICA & ASSOCIATES, Farah interned at Walt Disney World Corporation through their college internship program. During her time there she was able to take an in depth look at their behind the scenes engineering.
Farah started at FORMICA & ASSOCIATES in April of 2014. She specializes in Mechanical design for both commercial and residential projects. Farah sees the company as a strong, smart, highly focused enterprise with a bright future. She enjoys meeting with clients and going onsite to coordinate project details. She is currently a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
Cyndi A. Haywood
Cyndi began her career in 1976 creating hand drafted designs for residential swimming pools at Pool Makers, one of South Florida’s oldest pool construction companies. From there she spent a couple of years producing architectural designs for commercial buildings and in 1980 Cyndi joined FORMICA & ASSOCIATES. She stayed for eleven years wearing many hats for the company, including, hand drafting for electrical, plumbing and mechanical designs, meeting clients at the jobsite, and administrative duties for day-to-day company operations.
She returned to the pool business for ten years at Pool People where she used AutoCAD systems to design swimming pools from basic residential to million dollar custom creations
In 2002, Cyndi came back to FORMICA & ASSOCIATES and today is Project Manager responsible for overseeing all of the company projects. She sets schedules with clients and coordinates the design and production of construction documents. Her responsibilities also include supervision of the in house team of engineers, designers and AutoCAD drafters. Her daily schedule includes interaction with architects, contractors, and building department officials.
Bryan DeMacedo, Intern
Bryan is currently a junior at Florida Atlantic University as a Civil Engineering student.
He started at FORMICA & ASSOCIATES in 2017, he assists us with every phase of the mechanical designs. His teamwork mindset and positive attitude towards work lightens any room, and makes him an exceptional upcoming young engineer.
Bryan obtained his certification in Autodesk Revit®, while he was still in high school.
Keith Piccillo, A.S. Computer Assisted Design
AutoCAD Drafter / Electrical
Keith received his Associates Degree in Computer Assisted Design from Keiser College in 2004.
He started at Formica & Associates in 2004 where he specializes in Electrical Design as well as conceptual Fire Alarm & Fire Sprinkler Design for both commercial and residential projects. Aside from working full time at the firm he also holds a part-time job working as a Seasonal Bartender for the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL.

Keith has since assumed the role of production manager overseeing that printed drawings are printed signed sealed and delivered.
Robert F. Formica, P.E., B.S.E.E.
President / Chief Engineer
After serving his country in the United States Marine Corp, Bob returned to continue his education and entered the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent seven years at IBM, Boca Raton, where he specialized in computer design and testing. Bob’s entrepreneurial spirit, however, always had him thinking about running his own engineering company. In 1978 he stepped into the consulting arena and founded FORMICA & ASSOCIATES.
Throughout his 39 year engineering career Bob has brought his visionary management style and dedicated work ethic to literally thousands of projects, many of them large and highly complex.
Today, Bob’s role, in addition to being the President, is as chief engineer, teacher to young engineers, plus solving technical problems with a highly talented engineering staff.
Despite his busy schedule Bob volunteers his time and expertise to various religious groups that need professional assistance.
Marie Formica, B.S.
Vice President / Principal
In addition to being a co-founder and a principal, Marie Formica wears many hats at FORMICA & ASSOCIATES. But that’s not surprising considering she was a Cum Laude graduate at Barry University in Miami where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Diet and Nutrition. She also served a dietetic internship at the New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Marie is a member of the American Dietetic Association.
Marie’s extensive health experiences are a unique asset to FORMICA & ASSOCIATES where she oversees human resources, benefits and health insurance. She is also active in the firm’s public relations and marketing and provides facilities support and client assistance.
Marie believes the difference FORMICA & ASSOCIATES brings to the table is an exceptionally desirable work environment, high professional standards, and low employee turnover.
